In what counts as Hedi Slimane’s last hurrah before departing the LVMH owned maison (awaiting his successor, Michael Rider) Celine Beaute encapsulates product and a level of packaging (pencils, cases, bottles) that is worthy of our attention and application. Developed over 5 years and launched during the L’Arc de Triomphe collection film for the AW 24 line, the heartbeat of the range is Le Rouge Celine lipstick with a standout and very Parisian, 01 Rouge Triomphe shade. It is the kind of red that you would reach for on romantic dates and for liberating break ups alike. Highly kissable, the satin finish lipstick is delicately scented with a very ‘70’s melee of rose and rice powder and housed in a refillable faceted gold metal sheath that takes its designs cues from Louis XVI gold jewellery and art deco.This precious item, refillable, might be a rather nice accessory to wield in the boudoir and on the urban commute alike.
The line, the first in the history of the 80-year-old house, will expand in January 2025 in 15 satin-finish colors, including the classic nude shade La Peau Nue, alongside lip balms, mascaras, eyeliners and pencils and nail polish. But rouge remains every woman’s first love.
