“Karl was the best mentor I could have ever dreamt of and CHANEL is the maison with probably the largest fashion jewellery proposition and the oldest savoir-faire,” says Tatiana who got her CHANEL immersion after a Business Masters and design stints with Maison Michel and Anthony Vaccarello. “We worked ‘the old way,’ sketching on paper and walking the Paris arrondissements to create samples with the Metiers d’Art ateliers: Desrues, Lesage, and Lemarié amongst. No computers or technical barriers, no budget, just pure creation and craft. It was intensive training and an immensely inspiring way to push creativity as a designer.”

Tatiana launched her eponymous brand in 2019, the year Lagerfeld died, at 24 Place Vendome in Paris. Each piece is handcrafted, and she works with real diamonds sourced from Antwerp and coloured stones from specialists worldwide. “It was important for me to take an artistic approach to jewellery, working with only the finest materials and most precious stones. Creating less but better, and forever.” She is one of a handful of independent creatives who are pursuing their craft in the time-honoured way eschewing short cuts and derivative practices.

Tatiana’s signature creation is the ethereal Diamond Rain Fringe Earring, on which clouds of pearls and diamonds appear to float on strings of gold. “They dance on the ear, glistening like rain on a summer’s day. The technique recalls the delicate embroidery work that I discovered at CHANEL’s Atelier Lesage,” says Tatiana, who is currently working on a number of unique editions. “I love the earrings and wear them often - be it with an off-the-shoulder gown or with jeans and heels. They come alive on the body.” Another standout is the diamond Sol ring, inspired by a family piece, that can be paired with the Luna ring fashioned in different tones of gold for a subtle look.

Tatiana looks to “the absolute elegance and joy of Audrey Hepburn, the natural style of Jane Birkin, the sophistication of Grace Kelly, the sensuality of Sharon Stone, the beauty of Amal Clooney, and the fierceness of Golshifteh Farahani.”

Enhancing individual beauty is her goal.
