The Swimwear Brands To Know This Summer
Our edit of best-in-class swimwear for now
Kaleidoscopic prints for high summer bliss. Ulla Johnson’s craft for playful yet functional pieces, meant for mixing and matching, puts the ease into summer holiday wear.
Eighties-inspired LET’S SWIM is the latest creation from London-based designer David Koma, combining his passions for fashion, travel and conservation. The debut ECONYL collection explores “a state of unrestrained undress, the most honest representation of human beauty," crafted from 97% responsibly-sourced materials including disused fishing nets.
The Brit-born, “original crinkle” swimwear brand Hunza G celebrates its 40th anniversary with a twist on its enduring classic (enter ruffles) and a launch into RTW, with poplins and linens aplenty. The collection reflects co-founder Georgiana Huddart’s desire for a “one-stop shopping destination” for eternal summer essentials.
Since launching her lingerie label over a decade ago, Paris-based Yasmine Eslami’s know-how for the female body has translated to a line of swimwear. The brand’s seventies-inspired SS24 edit explores classic silhouettes in satin and towelling fabrics, with a metallic edge.
“People know that this is the swim I wear,” says Elsa of the brand that had her hooked long before a collaboration came about via a series of Instagram DMs between the Swedish model and Heavy Manners founder Lisa Caprio. The playful capsule features 48 pieces in eight punchy prints, with the 90s-cut two pieces an instant hit, some with hair scrunchies to match.
An extension of his knockout spring-summer Nebular collection, Australian-based Christopher Esber does swimwear with an artful twist. Simple shapes in monochrome colours are centred around sculptural fixtures, threaded with earth-toned stones.
Brazilian-born Adriana Degreas’ latest collection ‘La Mer’ continues the brand’s exploration of “Bain Couture” beachside dress-up. Sophisticated silhouettes in sculpted lycra, some with appliqué trimmings, thread a needle between swim and cabana wear.
Footloose on the decks of Deia’s latest hangout Hotel Corazon, where creatives unite to “meditate underwater and jump rocks with wild mountain goats,” is where Italian swim brand Oséree envisaged its latest collection be worn. Designed in collaboration with the hotel itself, the collection features itsy-bitsy bikinis in two-tone textured fabrics, captured by hotel founder and photographer Kate Bellm.
Hand-beaded, hand-sewn bralettes and bottoms by Patricia Bonaldi are your step-up in statement summerwear, Palm Royale style.
