“Women are our muses,” says Barbara Borghini, founder of cult Italian footwear brand Giaborghini, coveted for its minimal, sculptural day-to-night designs. “We take our cue from women who are strong, passionate about life, who have something valuable to express. Above all, as a mostly female team, we identify with women who support other women.” The brand, named after Barbara’s daughter Ginevra, has built a mini empire by collaborating with a tight knit coterie. Pernille Taesbaek was appointed creative consultant last year, after two sellout collaborations, Paris based journalist Claire Thomson-Jonville has recently joined as “editor in residence,” and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley releases her latest collection just in time for holiday wish lists.

While Giaborghini's partnerships orientate towards a Gen Z audience (Hailey Bieber, Kendall Jenner and Ashley Graham are all ambassadors), Barbara is steadfastly dedicated to the tradition of craft and works with local Florentine makers. “We believe in the quality of timeless pieces and support local artisans because craftsmanship brings excellence,” says the founder. The latest capsule features 90s vibe towering platforms with chunky lug soles, over-the-knee boots and crystal-embellished padded slides. Highlights of Rosie’s fifth range include satin kitten heels, boots in chocolate brown or winter white, and two-tone loafers.
“It’s a combination of the model and actress’ taste and minimalist flair with our footwear expertise,” says Barbara. Heading to a house party, or for a long wintery park walk, this is footwear that walks the talk.
