Her trajectory was perhaps written in the clouds. She inherited her family’s fifth-generation Alpine oasis - Hotel Post in Bezau (a ‘cure’ hotel dating from the 1850s) - and took the decisive move to develop an in-house product line for spa as well as home use. With a geek focus on research and the latest industry developments, Kaufmann has evolved the product offer with ingredients sourced in Austria and Switzerland to minimise the carbon footprint. To Kaufmann, terms like ‘clean’ should surpass the natural, high-quality ingredients to encompass environmentally-friendly production, innovative packaging, and an overarching respect for people and the planet. "These small but significant updates help to close the distance between the ingredient source and production facility, so you can enjoy our products today without compromising tomorrow,” says Kaufmann. The clear, no nonsense medicinal bottles are a pretty good clue to the intent of this brand.

Pop-up treatment programs with partners including Liberty London and KaDeWe in Berlin bring Alpine alchemy into urban environments with the Rejuvenating Eye Cream and Spa Oil Collection proving longtime best sellers. Kaufmann also oversees spas at the breezy Four Seasons Surf Club in Miami, São Lourenço do Barrocal in Portugal as well as at the bucolic homebase, Hotel Post where the program covers detoxification and body sculpting and the menu is focussed on highly nutrient, alkalizing foods.
